IBM opens regional sales office in Katowice

IBM announced today an opening of a regional sales office in Katowice. According to the company’s representatives, the new unit is created in response to a dynamic growth of local enterprises.

The sales office in Katowice will cover the Silesian Voivodeship’s market. Its purpose will be a customer service and a supply of business and infrastructural solutions being produced by IBM. The office will employ six persons at the start.

The American company is also to invest in IT skills together with schools of Upper Silesia. Within the cooperation, IBM will participate in exchange and creation of IT knowledge together with the Katowice School of Economics (“Górnośląska Wyższa Szkoła Handlowa”) and its Upper Silesian IT Forum. This way, the students will get a chance to conduct research projects and to take part in training courses. To join the practice and the knowledge, IBM is to cooperate with the University of Economics in Katowice and the competence center in Gliwice, which specializes in developing technology and software of IBM.
