The City Hall of Katowice has handed over the construction site of the International Convention Center (ICC) to the prime contractor.
The 37 900 sq. meters building will be erected by the consortium of Warbud and Mercury Engineering. First workers, building machinery and facilities have already appeared at the site including one of tower cranes that was mounted on Thursday.
“The construction site’s handover took place on Monday. According to the contract, the consortium will be erecting the building on a three 8-hour shift basis to provide around the clock coverage of the works” – said Janusz Nowak, project manager of the ICC.
The development of the International Convention Center is expected to be concluded in October 2014. The City Hall will pay gross PLN 280,3 million to the prime contractor.
