Katowice Airport reports record-breaking month in history

June 2015 was the best month in history of Katowice International Airport in terms of handled passengers, both in total and regular flights’ travelers.

367 143 people traveled through its doors last month – a +18% increase compared with June 2014. The last month was also the best one considering the regular traffic – there were 188 664 passengers, 31 thousand more (+19,5%) when compared with June 2014. Also, Katowice Airport saw 177 304 passengers of charter flights – an additional 25 thousand travelers, increasing by 16% year-on-year.

After the first six months of 2015, there were 1 269 534 passengers handled at the airport, which is 152 thousand more (+13,5%) in comparison to the same period last year.

The Upper Silesian Aviation Group, which manages the Katowice Airport, expects another record-breaking news during the summer season concerning the flight traffic and forecasts to break the 3 million mark of passengers handled at the airport after the twelve months of 2015. This year’s summer timetable boasts 95 routes – 35 regularly-scheduled services and 60 charter destinations.
