Hotel prices in Katowice have risen by 21,4 percent during the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championships, according to hotel comparison website trivago.pl. The increase is the highest amongst all host cities.
The tournament will take place from 30th of August to 21st of September in seven cities: Katowice, Łódź, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Bydgoszcz, Kraków and Warsaw. Trivago.pl – the world’s largest online hotel search site of over 700 000 hotels on over 150 booking sites worldwide – compared average prices for one night, which have to be paid in hotels located in the fore-mentioned cities. Additionally, the search website prepared a ranking of the seven cities, taking into account rates of the hotels.
The average price for one night in Katowice amounts to PLN 262 during the tournament. This is a 21,4 percent increase in comparison to the same period in 2013. Bydgoszcz was the second city where the price growth was noted (21%). Prices for one night remain stable in the five remaining cities when compared to the previous year. The lowest prices were registered in Łódź (PLN 198), while Warsaw is the most expensive city to stay overnight (PLN 304).
In case of the rates of the hotels, the lowest mark was given to the Katowice accommodation facilities (81,31/100). Gdańsk got the highest score of 84,10/100.
