Katowice will be promoted in New York

The City of Katowice and the Katowice Special Economic Zone will attend the 5th annual World BPO/ITO Forum. At the same time, the Katowice Summit 2012 conference will take place in the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland. Both events will be held in New York City.

World BPO/ITO Forum is an exclusive invitation-only event for executives and senior decision-makers from enterprise companies with USD one billion or more in revenue, currently using BPO/ITO services or interested in evaluating global sourcing opportunities. The event will be held between 26th and 27th of June.

Attending cities will have a chance to present in the so called country pavilions. Apart from Poland, following countries will have its own pavilions opened during the Forum – Brazil, Malaysia, Philippines, Scotland and Uruguay.

On 27th of June, Katowice Summit 2012 will be organized in the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York. It is an annual one-day conference and networking event creating connection opportunities for business professionals and potential investors looking for an IT developing market or other industries in one of Poland’s fastest changing and largest cities. The last year’s edition of the summit was attended by 125 representatives of global companies.

The summit features a series of presentations from experts in business development, outsourcing, markets forecast and investment advisory, followed by a networking session.

Additionally, a free webinar concerning the potential of information technology outsourcing (ITO) and business process outsourcing (BPO) sectors in Katowice and Poland is planned on 30th of May. Panelists include current business managers and professionals in Central and Eastern Europe: Marcin Nowak – Delivery Center Director at Capgemini; the Association of Business Service Leaders in Poland (ABSL), Jolanta Jaworska – Chief of Public Programs at IBM Eastern and Central Europe; Board Member at the Association of Business Service Leaders in Poland (ABSL), Paweł Panczyj – Advisor at Ernst & Young Polska, Mateusz Skowroński – Mayor’s Plenipotentiary for Strategic Investors at the Katowice Strategic Investors’ Center and Wanda Lopuch (moderator of the webinar) – Former Chair of the Board and President of the Global Sourcing Council.
