Marriott will debut in Katowice with Courtyard

Marriott International announced the upcoming addition of four-star Courtyard to its portfolio in Poland. The hotel will be opened in the Altus building located in the very heart of Katowice. The new accommodation facility will be the third hotel of the brand in Poland after Warsaw and Gdynia.

Marriott signed an agreement regarding the new investment with Izera, the owner of Altus. The four-star Qubus Hotel previously occupied the building, however it was closed in December 2016 as the owner did not decide to extend the contract with the operator.

The new one is Courtyard, which will occupy floors between 19th and 26th and will offer 151 rooms. „I suppose it will be the highest located Courtyard in Europe” – said Janusz Mitulski, director International Hotel Development for Central & Eastern Europe at Marriott International. A bar and restaurant will be situated at the top floor (27th). The hotel will also feature a 8-room conference center. Courtyard will be opened in the middle of 2017. Before that date, Izera will be responsible for the renovation of the rooms according to the Marriott standards. The rooms area will range between 22 and 63 sq. meters.

Altus is located at 13 Uniwersytecka St.
