Mofo, RS+ and JRK72 design for Echo Katowice

Echo Investment organized an architectural contest to design a main square which will be situated in front of the company’s new shopping mall called Echo Katowice. The retail complex will be built in the southern part of the city.

The square will be one the most interesting features of the new shopping center, according to the developer. „We want to make the square a unique place that is why we have organized the architectural competition. We invited three experienced studios: Mofo (Kraków), RS+ (Mikołów) and JRK72 (Gliwice). The designing works are already in progress. First schemes will be known in the middle of February and the contest will be decided by the end of this month. We hope that the new main square of the south of Katowice will be created within our cooperation. We want to take advantage of the best European examples” – said Jarosław Czapski, architect from the shopping centers department at Echo Investment.

Echo Katowice will be built in the junction of Kościuszki and Kolejowa streets and will offer approximately 42 000 sq. meters of retail and entertainment area. Administration proceedings to issue necessary permissions for the investment are being conducted at present.
