Mentor Graphics, a global technology firm operating in the area of electronic design automation, is expanding its engagement in Katowice. This time, the company is establishing a regional finance and accounting support center in the City.
The center will support 30 Mentor Graphics entities located in Western Europe, Russia, Armenia and Israel. About 20-22 employees of the new unit – involved as financial accountants, payroll specialists and team leaders – will be responsible for audit and general financial accounting’s services inside the corporation. By creating the center, an employment in the company’s financial department will increase for 12-14 new employees.
The Katowice office of Mentor Graphics is located in the “Chorzowska 50” office building. Last year, the company renewed a lease agreement of 3 100 sq. meters of office space in the building. The American corporation’s branch is one of the most important foreign investments in Katowice. It is mostly formed by the research and development center being the biggest site of the firm in Europe. To develop and support local young engineers’ careers, Mentor Graphics cooperates with the Silesian University of Technology since 2005.
