A subsidiary of Mostostal Zabrze is now conducting construction works on the second ground storey of the Krzysztof Kieślowski Radio and Television Faculty’s new seat (WRiTV).
The construction site located at 3 św. Jana St. was handed over to the company last summer. This spring the prime contractor has finished the works on the excavation and the underground storey designed as a car park.
The new faculty’s seat will be located on the vacant plot, on which only a former electrical transformation building’s walls have been preserved. The two storey brick walls are now being surrounded by reinforced concrete two-storey construction. Additional two floors will be located above. The central part of the site will be remained empty to be used as an internal courtyard.
The five-storey building, including the one storey situated under the ground, will offer the usable area of 5 400 sq. meters. The architectural design was prepared by „Grupa5 Architekci” from Warsaw and BAAS from Barcelona.
The construction work is expected to be finished in the second half of 2016 and is carried out by Mostostal Zabrze „Gliwickie Przedsiębiorstwo Budownictwa Przemysłowego S.A.”, the Mostostal subsidiary. Most of the investment budget – PLN 32,9 million – will be covered by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
