Construction work on a new housing scheme will be launched in the middle of April. TDJ Estate, a subsidiary of TDJ S.A., has already signed an agreement with prime contractor of the undertaking. The „Franciszkańskie” housing estate („Osiedle Franciszkańskie”) will be erected by RE-Bau.

The investment will be located on Kijowska St. close to the Franciscan Monastery and Basilica in Katowice-Panewniki and about 7 kilometers from the City center. Apartments of „Osiedle Franciszkańskie” will cover the area from 27 to 90 sq. meters. Most of the units will be available within the governmental subsidy programme called „Mieszkanie dla Młodych” (Apartments for the Youth).
An easy access with the downtown of Katowice and other districts of the City will be provided thanks to the planned modernization of traffic layout in the area, including the connection of Kijowska and Piotrowicka streets. A wide range of retail and service units is also designed for the estate.
Maciej Wójcik, CEO of TDJ Estate, said: „Osiedle Franciszkańskie” will be arranged on the extensive space, in the neighbourhood of green areas. Currently, we are working on last details of our offer, which is going to be presented at the beginning of May when the apartments sale starts. First inhabitants will move to their premises in one year”.
The first stage of the construction work will be kicked-off in the middle of April. According to legal obligations of the Development Act, the sale of the housing units will be based on a closed housing escrow account. The account enables the buyers to pay only 10 percent of the apartments’ total worth when they sign the purchase agreement, while the remaining amount will be paid when the construction work is finished.
„Osiedle Franciszkańskie” will be built by RE-Bau, a Kraków-based company established in 1996. The firm was involved in the construction of hotels and office buildings, residential buildings and estates, university facilities as well as shopping centers in Poland, Russia, Germany and France.
