Less than four months left to the great opening of Galeria Katowicka. Outfitting is at full swing at all levels of the shopping center and some of retail premises have been already handed over to tenants.

“The works are being conducted 24/7 and more than one thousand workers are currently involved in outfitting of Galeria Katowicka. Everything is according to schedule and the mall will be opened in September” – said Rafał Elżanowski, investment director at Neinver Poland.
Sub-contractors of Strabag are laying 70 000 pieces of tiles that have to cover about 25 000 sq. meters of floor in the shopping center. The color features white and black what will correspond with the mall’s visual identification system. Ceramic is the primary floor finishing material inside the building, while the food-court floor will be made of ash wood.
Galeria Katowicka is also preparing for the opening and its future activity by the study of pedestrian traffic flow in the area of the mall. The traffic was surveyed in April in nine different locations on Dworcowa, Stawowa, 3 Maja streets and Szewczyka Sq.
“Between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. we have counted 55 thousand people what confirms our previous estimation. The number of pedestrians is expected to grow by another several thousands when the quality of surface and the tram traffic will improve after the delivery of 3 Maja St. modernization” – said Agnieszka Jurkiewicz, PR and marketing manager of Galeria Katowicka.
1 200 parking places on two levels covering 46 000 sq. meters will be provided for those customers who prefer to reach Galeria Katowicka by car. Thanks to this facility, Katowice will get one of Poland’s largest underground car parks. Four staircases with elevators will lead to the shopping center.
Galeria Katowicka is a joint undertaking of Neinver Poland and Meyer Bergman.
