Works on the extension and modernization of the Silesian Philharmonic are almost concluded. The concert hall is already featured by the new organ instrument designed by prof. Julian Gembalski and manufactured by Karl Schuke Berliner Orgelbauwerkstatt from Germany.

The organ was assembled in six days by the team of four people. The instrument consists of almost three thousand pipes. Now the Berlin company conducts the process of organ tunning what is expected to be done at the beginning of March. Inaugural concert in the 426-seated hall (110 seats were prepared in the chamber hall) is planned to be held the same month.
In the last weeks, last outfitting works were executed including floors insulations, decor elements, door woodwork, electric and systems tests, as well as last plastering and painting works, sanitary and air-conditioning installations.
The total value of the extension and modernization of the philharmonic will amount to approximately PLN 47,5 million being co-financed by the European Union.
