The winning project was prepared by „Wojciech Gęsiak Studio Architektoniczne” and was presented at the beginning of July. The construction work will be started on the new building not earlier than in 2016. At first, the court has to pass several administrative proceedings.

„In 2014, the Ministry of Justice’s Department of the Budget, Managing Control and Effectiveness will have to previously approve the post-competition concept design which has to be prepared in the first instance. The detailed design process will be commenced after that” – explained Jacek Krawczyk, press spokesman of the Regional Court in Katowice.

The permit design and executive design will be done in 2015. The court expects to obtain a valid building permit the same year. The project will also need the final approval of the Technical and Economic Commission as well as the Ministry of Justice. Then the investment will be included in the financial programme for 2016.

In 2016, a prime contractor of the construction work will be chosen and the works are expected to be launched that year. The contractor will be obliged to erect the building and supply necessary fit-outs.

An estimated cost of the undertaking amounts to PLN 69 million. The budget of the investment will be entirely financed from the State Budget.
