September statistics from KTW

Katowice International Airport (KTW) presented traffic statistics of September 2014. There were handled 13,5 percent (38,5 thousand) passengers more than in the same month last year.

Also, it was the best September in the airport’s history. The total volume of travelers amounted to 322 389. There were 168 744 charter flights’ passengers, 48,5 thousand more (+40%) in comparison with September 2013.

2 173 049 travelers were handled at KTW from the beginning of 2014. This stands for 134,5 thousand passengers more (+6,6%) than in the same period of 2013. The airport authorities expect that the total number of handled passengers will reach 2,7 people in 2014 – the largest number of travelers in the KTW’s history. The growing trend will be continued in 2015, according to the authorities, as WizzAir already announced to expand its aircrafts base in Katowice and to extend the flight frequency of some routes.

On Monday, 29th of September, Wizz Air and the airport celebrated the opening of Katowice – Glasgow route. The carrier operates the new service twice a week, on Monday and Thursday. Prices start from PLN 78.
