Series of conferences planned in European capitals before EEC 2013

The PTWP Group, an organizer of the European Economic Congress in Katowice, is going to promote the event by arranging a series of conferences in Central European capitals. The new project will be implemented between November 2012 and March 2013.

The meetings will be held in Prague, Bratislava and Vienna, but also Bucharest, Budapest, Sofia, Zagreb and perhaps also Kyiv with the participation of politicians, investors and representatives of the biggest companies that matter in Europe.

The first of these types of meetings war already organized before the last fourth edition of the Congress in Prague, with representatives of the Czech and Polish political and economic elites. The discussions addressed some of the most recent strategic issues in the EU economic and energy policy, but also bilateral cooperation.

“Over the last four years of editions, the European Economic Congress has undoubtedly become the most significant business event in the central part of Europe. What not so long ago used to be the Congress organizers’ ambition, has become a fact: the common voice of Central Europe is coming with increasing strength from Katowice, from Silesia and from Poland. Participants from other countries in our region, coming in great numbers, have already started to perceive the Congress as their own event, identifying with its idea, actively contributing to its work and becoming ambassadors of the congress project and message in their respective countries” – can be read in the organizer’s statement.

The main goal of the project will be to identify issues of key importance for countries in the Central and Eastern European region. The raised themes will be continued on the wider European forum of the Fifth European Economic Congress in May 2013. Organizers would also like to dedicate a part of each of the meetings to the potential for bilateral cooperation between Poland and the respective country hosting each conference.
