A press conference inaugurating a five-day celebration of the new Silesia City Center’s opening took place on Wednesday’s afternoon. Paris Hilton, as a special guest of the ceremony, Eduard Zehetner, CEO/CFO of Immofinanz Group – an investor of the undertaking, and Piotr Uszok, Mayor of Katowice, honored the conference.
“A vivid and constant tenants interest in new retail spaces, impressive statistics concerning a number of visitors, a potential of growing economy and a strong purchasing power of the Silesia region’s inhabitants caused Immofinanz Group decided to extend Silesia City Center” – said Eduard Zehetner.
The extension had started in September 2010 resulted of 20 000 sq. meters of new retail space and about 500 new workplaces. During that time, 800 workers of Erbud S.A., a prime contractor of the extension, have worked at the construction site. From now on, a total retail area of Silesia City Center covers 86 000 sq. meters which gives SCC the fifth place among the biggest shopping malls in Poland according to Colliers International, real estate advisors.
The new part of Silesia City Center is already leased-out.
