Silesia City Center (SCC) won the ICSC European Shopping Center Award 2013 that was established in 1975 and is recognized as the most prestigious prize in commercial real estate. SCC was named the best in the category of „refurbishments or/and extensions”.

Presentation of the winners took place in Stockholm, Sweden on 17th of April. The award honored the expansion of the mall delivered in October 2011. In the same category, Silesia City Center was competing against Altmarkt-Galerie in Dresden, Germany. The German mall was given a commendation.
Strong interest from national and international retailers persuaded Immofinanz Group to extend Silesia City Center. More than 60 shops, 20 000 sq. meters of retail spaces and 500 parking spaces were created within the extension. “The aim was to realize a concept that breaks up the stereotypical image of shopping malls. The design drew on the region’s traditions and maintained the elements from the original form. Today the mix of more than 300 tenants is a testament to the success of Silesia City Center” – we can read in a brochure presenting this year’s winners.
Bose International Planning and Architecture is the design architect of Silesia City Center and the extension.
