Skanska chose to revamp 3 Maja St.

Skanska S.A. has submitted the best bid in the tender for the 3 Maja St. redevelopment. The decision of the City Hall was published on Wednesday, 30th of May.

Five companies and consortiums were tendering for the contract. Apart from Skanska, these were Mostostal Warszawa S.A., Zbigniew Ziajka Przedsiębiorstwo Drogowe, PPU „Ergopol” (leader of consortium) and NDI S.A. (leader of consortium). Now the four firms have ten days to lodge an appeal against the decision in the National Appeal Chamber, before the contract with Skanska would be signed.

The modernization of 3 Maja St. (including Wolności Sq.) will embrace works on a new surface and pavements of the area, greenery, lighting and street furnitures. An estimated cost of the modernization exceeds PLN 18,6 million. The price proposed by Skanska will be publicly revealed after finishing the bidding procedure.

Together with the 3 Maja revamp, a redevelopment of track-ways of the street and the square will be conducted by Tramwaje Śląskie S.A. for about PLN 18,2 million. A prime contractor of this part of works has not yet been chosen.
