After several years of waiting, the construction site of Silesia Business Park finally sees the first building crews and machinery. The terrain is currently being prepared to lay foundations.
“Initial preparatory works were already kicked-off at the construction site and include ground and piling works” – said Jakub Zagórski, communication and marketing manager at Skanska. The preparatory works are being conducted in the western part of the site where the A building will be erected.
Apart from piling works, the ground stabilization and subgrade improvement are currently underway. According to the company representative, the preparatory works do not mean the development have been officially commenced. “Skanska works intensively in recent months to secure the first pre-lease agreement, what is the crucial condition to be fulfilled before the construction works can be started. We hope to announce the successful letting soon” – Jakub Zagórski commented.
Silesia Business Park will be the largest office development in Katowice offering 46 000 sq. meters of leasable office space in one location. The complex of four A-class buildings, with tri-coloured elevations, is to be located on Chorzowska St. close to Silesia City Center. Each of the office facilities will have 14 storeys including two floors designed as a car park situated below the level of Chorzowska St.
Silesia Business Park will also be the first green office property in Katowice which takes into account environmental concerns and fulfills the certification requirements of the international environmental certification system LEED (the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
