Skanska Property Poland has signed a first lease agreement for office space in the A building of Silesia Business Park. It was the largest pre-let secured on the office market in the last quarter of 2013 from amongst all Polish regional cities. The building is now 55% pre-let.
The agreement was signed with PwC, one of the Big Four auditors in the globe. The company offices will cover 6 770 sq. meters. The tenant will move into the building in November this year. PwC will occupy 7 floors of the 12-storey facility.
PwC hires 184 000 people in 157 countries around the world and employs over 1 700 specialists and support stuff in seven cities in Poland. PwC in Katowice is present since January 2006. Currently, about 450 people work every day in the Katowice office of PwC. In December 2009, a Service Delivery Center of the company was opened in the City. It is the first audit shared service center in Poland which supports PwC’s audit services among Central and Eastern Europe countries. At present, the company is headquartered in Katowice Business Point at 3 Ściegiennego St.
The buildings of Silesia Business Park will be 12-storeys high, with a combined 46 000 sq. meters of leasable office space and a total of 600 parking spaces both in a two-level underground car park and at ground level. The total height of the facilities will be 59 meters. The first building is now underway and is scheduled to be ready for use in Q4 2014.
The architectural design of Silesia Business Park was developed by Medusa Group. The general contractor is Skanska S.A., whereas Skanska Property Poland is responsible for the leasing of the office complex. Silesia Business Park will receive a Gold LEED sustainability certificate and an EU GreenBuilding certificate.
