Builders of the platform 4 are finishing to erect the steel structure of the roof at the Katowice Railway Station. The works were relaunched at the beginning of 2013 after necessity of changing one of sub-contractors.
Previously, the construction over all four platforms was planned to be delivered by the end of the last year. Due to a bankruptcy of Budus, the subcontractor of the undertaking, the works are delayed. The PRK Kraków prime contractor has already chosen a new firm which continues the building process. It involves new surfaces, roof and tracks, elements of small architecture, information system for passengers and fittings.
After the delivery of the platform 4, the construction crews will move to the platform number 1 to erect the roof. The works are expected to be concluded in the middle of this year.
