Supersam: We focus on commercialization

While Galeria Katowicka is going to be delivered this year and the opening is scheduled for 18th of September, some attention is also given to another project as there is the second shopping center to be erected in the very heart of Katowice.

The project called Supersam was shown publicly for the first time in 2009. Centrum Development and Investments (CDI), which is responsible for the scheme, got the building permit in the middle of 2011. The same year, the company entered into the agreement with the Great Britain’s Resolution Property investment fund to conduct the undertaking together.

The opening of Supersam was previously planned for 2013 but the construction works have not been kicked-off so far. However, the company is still in the investing mood and unveils the project stage.

“Centrum Development and Investments, in cooperation with Jones Lang LaSalle, concentrates its present efforts on intensive activities connected with the commercialization of Supersam. Our goal is to prepare an interesting retail offer which will answer the needs of the local market and will secure the success of this project” – commented Joanna Richter, president of the board of CDI Poland. The firm does not show any schedule of works at the moment.

Located on Piotra Skargi St., Supersam will be a modern shopping mall offering approximately 21 000 sq. meters of retail space for lease and 46 000 sq. meters in total. The building was designed by Konior Studio. The mall’s offer is addressed mostly to young people looking for fashion clothing on a budget. Amongst the biggest tenants that already signed lease contracts will be Smyk, Empik, Mohito, Cropp, House, the Multikino multiplex cinema, the Aldi discount supermarket and a fitness club.
