After 94 days of works, the tram route between the Roundabout and the Market Sq. – part of Korfantego Av. – will be re-opened. The tram lines 6, 7, 11, 13 and 19 will return to service the section on Monday morning, 24th of December.
The holdup of tram services was connected with the redevelopment of the City Center and the first stage of works between the Rialto cinema and the Roundabout being conducted by the consortium of NDI and Balzola.
The consortium of NDI and Balzola is finishing works on the new tram track between the Rialto cinema and the Roundabout. However, probability of re-opening this tram section in December is now fifty percent due to adverse weather conditions.
“We estimate that all works on the Rialto – Market Sq. section are about 95 percent done while the Market Sq. – Roundabout part is 75 percent completed. If we talk only about the tram track of the Rialto – Roundabout area, the works are 90 percent done at the moment”
Works on the modernization of 3 Maja St. are more and more advanced. Builders have already laid part of the concrete foundation of the new tram tracks. First elements of stone pavement have also appeared.
