Investments and Energy conference – summary

A conference “Silesia Metropolis – Investments and Energy” was held yesterday in the angelo Hotel. The meeting was organized by the City of Katowice, the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland and the Metropolitan Association of Upper Silesia.

A main purpose of the conference was to present to the audience an increasing role of Katowice and the region as a good place for doing business in this part of Europe.

Until Saturday, September 18th, they will be meeting with local businesspersons and institutions. The Upper Silesia region and the state of Colorado will have a following chance to tighten cooperation between the two regions. After a Silesia-Colorado trade mission in 2009, W. E. Loopesko & Associates, Inc. (WELA) is organizing on behalf of the City of Katowice a follow-up meeting this year. Businesspersons and other community representatives, mostly from Colorado, will visit Katowice and the Agglomeration from September 12th to 18th.

The City of Katowice and the Economic Section of the Polish Embassy in Washington have sent a delegation of over 20 Silesian business, government, and university representatives to Colorado between October 19-25. The World Trade Center of Denver, W. E. Loopesko & Associates, Inc. (WELA) and the Colorado European Union Center for Excellence (CEUCE) are responsible for the mission arrangements and meetings.
