District Court will be expanded on Francuska St.

The seat of the District Court “Katowice-Wschód” will be expanded. Public invitation for architects has just been issued to prepare an urban planning and architectural design of the PLN 61 million extension.

The competition procedure will be carried out by the Regional Court in Katowice, which is a parent body of the District Court. The Regional Court is known for its monumental seat located at 38 Francuska St. which was designed by Studniarek and Pilinkiewicz from Archistudio. The building

City Hall chose Market Sq. designer

In the middle of October, the City Hall of Katowice invited four architectural firms to enter final bids for a detailed design of the Market Square’s public spaces. The tender was decided on Thursday.

Only two out of the four studios decided to make the offers. The bids had to include the architectural concept of the public spaces and the price proposal which will have to be paid the winner for the detailed design documentation. The price (60%) and the architectural concept (40%) were the decisive criteria taken into consideration by the jury.

The City Hall of Katowice invited four architectural firms to make their bids for a detailed design of the Market Square’s public spaces.

The four studios were chosen out of six that have submitted applications in late September within the first stage of the procedure. The second stage is a limited tender where the four firms will enter the bids. The price and quality of the proposed architectural ideas for the area will be taken into consideration

Six architectural companies have submitted applications to take part in a limited tender for a detailed design of the Market Square’s public spaces.

This is the two-staged procedure where the studios submit the applications concerning financial aspects and experience of the designing team. Then, the City Hall estimates the applications and will invite up to five companies of the fore-mentioned six to submit bids within the second stage of the procedure.
