The Medical University of Silesia inaugurated yesterday start of its project of the Didactics and Medical Simulation Center. This high-tech Center will be the first didactics unit of its kind in Poland. In two years the Erbud prime contractor will revamp an old hospital laundry into the ultra-modern institution.

The Center will consist of a medical simulation part at the ground floor and a didactics part at the first floor covering area of 3 750 sq. m.

Erbud will revamp laundry into Simulation Center

The Medical University of Silesia chose Erbud S.A. as a prime contractor for a redevelopment of a closed hospital laundry into the Didactics and Medical Simulation Center and signed a contract worth PLN 11,2 million with the company. Erbud will have 18 months to finish building works. A total amount of the investment estimated at PLN 33,5 million will allow to revamp the two-storey building into the ultra-modern Center with necessary equipment.

Prime contractor for Simulation Center wanted

On 27th of January 2010, authorities of the Medical University of Silesia signed an agreement for a PLN 33,5 grant in a seat of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The subsidy will cover a reconstruction of an old laundry to the Didactics and Medical Simulation Center (Centrum Dydaktyki i Symulacji Medycznej).

At present, the Medical University is looking for a prime contractor of the Center.

PLN 33,5 million grant for the Simulation Center

Tomorrow will take place an agreement signature with six universities which will be granted within the framework of the European Union’s Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment (OPI&E) and state budget. Estimated for almost PLN 253 million, contracts will be signed in the seat of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. PLN 33 439 285 will go to the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice for refurbishment of an old University’s laundry to the Didactics and Medical Simulation Center

The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice is going to improve its academic base. Thanks to PLN 33,5 million from UE grants and state budget, the University will refurbish an old hospital laundry and adapt the building for the Didactics and Medical Simulation Center (Centrum Dydaktyki i Symulacji Medycznej). Localized at 8 Medyków St., the Center will consist of medical simulation part at the ground floor and teaching part at the first floor covering area of 3 750 sq. m.
