Works commenced on foundation slab

On 5th of July, a groundbreaking ceremony for a new seat of the Silesian Museum took place at the construction site. At present, after over two months of works, construction crews of a consortium of Budimex S.A. and Ferrovial Agroman S.A. – the prime contractor of the building – is preparing the ground to lay a foundation slab. To do that more than ten meters deep excavation is being prepared.

Contract signed between Silesian Museum and Budimex

Representatives of the Silesian Museum and the prime contractor – a consortium of Budimex S.A. and Ferrovial Agroman S.A. – signed today a contract for construction work on the Museum’s new seat. A positive decision on the project’s application and EU funds admission had made by the European Commission on 25th of May 2011, enabled to start the project.

The contract was signed by Leszek Jodliński, Director of the Silesian Museum and Andrzej Goławski

Waiting for contract signing

On 17th of December 2010, the Silesian Museum announced the name of prime contractor for the new Museum’s seat. The best offer estimated at PLN 206 million was filed by the consortium of Budimex S.A. (the leader) and Ferrovial Agroman S.A. The final step to launch construction works is to sign the contract with the chosen consortium. To do so, last conditions have to be fulfilled.
