Poland has been and is expected to be one of Europe’s best performing economies. Katowice and its investment market is predicted to develop more rapidly in the future than other regional cities. All ingredients of Katowice assets, like a high population density, well educated workforce, good infrastructure and planned public projects, predestine the City to become successful when the market turns into grow again.
Since January 2010, the Katowice office of King Sturge negotiated leasing contracts for almost 10 000 sq. meters in the City’s office buildings. The transactions were mostly signed for Katowice Business Point (KBP) of which King Sturge is the exclusive commercialization agent. Latest contracts in KBP were secured for about 1 000 sq. meters.
Additionally, the agency extended a lease agreement with Inkasso Plus for 137 sq. meters
Katowice Business Point (KBP) had attracted two new tenants which leased almost 1 000 sq. meters of office space. “Polskie Towarzystwo Wspierania Przedsiębiorczości” will occupy approximately 700 sq. meters and a new office of “Polskie Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń” will cover about 270 sq. meters. King Sturge, international property consultants and a commercialization agent of KBP, mediated the lease agreements.
July is the time to summary the first half of the year. katowicethecity.com interviewed Aleksandra Malanowicz, Head of King Sturge* office in Katowice, to find out her opinion about the office market in Katowice. She also spoke about the future and image of the City.
Can you describe the office market situation in Katowice in the last few months?
The economic downturn hit the office market in the City hard last year.
King Sturge has announced that Trade Trans had leased 220 sq. meters of office space in the office building at 4 Ceglana Street in Katowice. King Sturge was the leasing agent in this transaction.
The main reasons for choosing the office building on Ceglana St. were its location and a possibility to sign a leasing contract for an indefinite period of time. The company moved from the Altus building into the new office in April.
