Three indoor swimming pools to be built in Katowice

The City Hall of Katowice presented three projects of indoor swimming pools to be erected in three different locations in the city. Construction works are about to be started in spring next year. The total cost of the undertaking will be approximately PLN 92 million.

The swimming pools will be located in the Brynów district on Kościuszki St. (in the place of the former Gwardia stadium), at 8 Wczasowa St. in Zadole and at the junction of Hallera and Konna streets.

Each of the facilities will feature a 25×16 meters swimming pool, stand for 115 spectators, 80-meters long water slide, pool for swimming lessons, changing rooms, foyer, relax area (jacuzzi, sweat rooms), gym or rehabilitation room and a sport or gymnastic hall.

Architecture projects of all three facilities were prepared by the Pion company from Łódź, Poland. The buildings will cost from PLN 30,1 million to PLN 31,9 million. The city hall wants to issue a tender procedure for prime contractors this month. The works will be commenced in spring 2017 and will last approximately two years.
