Two global hotel brands enter Katowice. The new openings are made by Marriott and Carlson Rezidor. Both facilities are 4-star units.
Marriott opened Courtyard Katowice City Center in the middle of December. The hotel occupies top floors of the Altus highrise building located in the heart of the city at 13 Uniwersytecka St. It offers 151 air-conditioned rooms with modern audio and video equipment, access to the internet and a panorama of Katowice right behind the windows. Guests can also visit the hotel gym and a squash hall. The building features a restaurant located on the top 27th floor.
Marriott International is based in Bethesda, Maryland, USA, and encompasses a portfolio of more than 6 400 properties in 30 leading hotel brands spanning 126 countries and territories. Marriott operates and franchises hotels and licenses vacation ownership resorts all around the world.
The second hotel group expanding in Katowice is Carlson Rezidor. The company will open the unit at the beginning of 2018. This new signing brings group’s Polish portfolio to 15 hotels in operation and under development. Park Inn by Radisson Katowice is located at 1A Bytkowska St., and will replace the Best Western brand in the building.
The hotel will feature 168 rooms, all-day restaurant, lobby bar, gym and a sauna. It will also offer extensive and newly built meeting facilities, including a 370 sq. meters ballroom. „Poland is a focus market for our growth journey, and the new Park Inn by Radisson in Katowice will further strengthen our presence in the country” – says Elie Younes, executive vice president and chief development officer of the Rezidor Hotel Group.
