Wizz Air announces Katowice – Tel Aviv route

Wizz Air, the largest low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe today announced a new Katowice – Tel Aviv route that will initially operate 3 times a week starting on 29th of October. The carrier will also inaugurate two new routes to Egypt and France from the Katowice International Airport this year.

Katowice will be the only city in Poland offering the direct, low-cost Wizz Air’s connection with Israel.

Flights to Tel Aviv will depart on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. After Jerusalem, Tel Aviv is the most important business and economic center in Israel. With 2,5 million international visitors annually, Tel Aviv was ranked in 2012 the fifth-most-visited city in the Middle East & Africa. The beaches of Tel Aviv play a major role in the city’s cultural and touristic scene, often ranked as some of the best beaches in the world.

In winter 2013, Wizz Air also begins operation to Africa, with service to Hurghada from the week of 31st of October. The airline will be operating one weekly flight each Thursday from the Katowice Airport. The second winter connection is Grenoble. Wizz Air will start flying to this French winter destination on 21st of December. The once-week flight will depart every Saturday.

Flights on Wizz Air’s new routes from Katowice are already on sale.

Apart from traditional flight ticket sales, these three holiday destinations will soon be available with a new Wizz Air’s customer service – the online travel platform called Wizz Tours. For the very first time Wizz Air is entering the package holiday market. Wizz Tours will be a fully online travel agent. The new package holidays will go on sale on the online travel platform wizztours.com from early October and will be available in Polish, Hungarian and in English language. Customers will have convenient access to Wizz Air flights paired with accommodation in over 30 000 hotels resulting in savings when compared to stand alone flight and hotel bookings.
